The jokes that make me smile are mostly juvenile, now listen

Got to keep on moving on with a brand song — y’all sing along
Don’t care if you sing it wrong until the break of dawn
And everything is gone

Unplug my microphone and say good night

I know you love me so I don't understand

Sometimes we wonder if the thunder that rumbles is
worth the struggle and trouble it brings …. uh huh
We don’t like that stress, don’t like the mess and depression
like every minor obsession is an offensive confession, ok?
See now what I’m getting at?
When I wrote this verse it was not the first,
whole lotta words and I think I’m cursed
But it’s not the worst, I’ll keep nursing verses in the hearse
Notebook in a canvas bag,
I don’t mean to brag, but I write it down or become a drag
And I know you’re not really gone,
Weren’t even gone that long but it fit the song, like
"ooh wee, woe is me — check out my poetry"
I’m still that kid that scribbled rage in '86
